The Power of Good (DVD + Teacher’s Guide)
The Power of Good documentary inspires students to DO good. In 1939, Nicholas Winton traveled to Prague for a vacation, and understood that lives were in danger of impending death. On his own willpower, he acted to save 669 Czech children from the hands of the Nazis. Unique, moving, and inspirational, this film narrates how Mr. Winton, was so modest that he didn’t speak of his extraordinary rescues for 50 years. The story only unfolded when his wife found a brief case that contained photos and letters of the rescued children. He was knighted by the Queen in 1983, and has received numerous other awards. Recently, the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation established a literary competition for high schoolers in his honor. Nicolas Winton is now 105 years old.
The DVD comes with a complete teacher’s guide.
